Put Google Calendar reminders on your desktop
A Google account has become almost a necessity on the web today, and one of the best features of it is Google Calendar.
If you use Google Calendar, GMinder is a little program that integrates with it to give you reminders about events on your calendar whether you're connected to the internet or not.
All that is necessary is entering your Google user name and password, then GMinder will download your calendar details. You can set how often it refreshed details from Google, and how many days it will pre-load too. Events are color coded by time (future, soon, now or past), and you can configure this to your tastes, as well as set a sound to accompany any alert.
The application sits in the system tray. Double clicking opens a window with your calendar plus some buttons (like a snooze button) and a single click will give you a small pop-up with today's events.
GMinder is a neat little application for any Windows Google Calendar user. Perhaps the only negative point is that you can't set events from the program - you still need to use your browser for that.
Small and lightweight, GMinder is a great addition to Google Calendar.

Excellent! Makes Google Calendar truly useful.
Resolved my earlier issues with almost immediate help from the developer. The browser default issue was a quirky thing on my computer. The issue with gMinder popping up with past events is easily resolved by going to Options and putting a check in the box for "Dismiss."Now it works the way I want it to, beautifully. Found developer site, posted my questions there.....
I found the developer site, http://reflectivecode.com/gminder, and posted my questions there and hope I will get my two issues resolved and be able to come back here and give this a super rating. Because it has the potential to make Google Calendar a perfect calendaring solution for me. More

Can't figure out how to get it to open Google Calendar in Chrome... .
... or Opera. Or Firefox. My default browser is Opera. Still, when I click on the gMinder calendar icon in my tray, it insists on opening IE. Which is a problem, because IE hangs on my computer. Any idea of how to change this? If I can change that, then I absolutely LOVE this litte add-on. If I can't, then I'll have to abandon it.Thanks,
kwcP.S. One other issue. It keeps reminding me daily of past one-time events. Any way to get it to forget about notifying me of events once their day has passed?P.P.S. Is there a developer site for this somewhere? Or user forum? More
